Yesterday, one of Jumbo's classmates from university and her husband came to visit Jumbo's house. They stayed overnight and will join us today on our outing to Zhongshan. Jumbo hadn't seen this classmate since college, but they were apparently very good friends 25 years ago. Within a few minutes of sitting down in Jumbo's living room with these new friends, we learned that five years ago Jumbo's classmate had made a very personal life decision that brought her joy. Just the night before, Jumbo, Bridger and I had an interesting conversation about whether fate brings friends together - or something more meaningful. I'm hoping Jumbo will see goodness and joy reflected in his old friend from college - and see that something more than coincidence has brought us into his living room.
